Call For Nominations

The Nominations Committee (“Committee”) of Taekwondo Canada (TC) Board of Directors (“Board”) calls for individuals to submit names of candidates to fill 3 Director-at-Large vacancies to serve on its Board of Directors.

The Committee is seeking qualified candidates to play a role in the stewardship of an organization in transition to a new culture that will demonstrate values of accountability, honour of tradition, respect, integrity, fairness and other attributes including that of leading edge corporate governance.

Qualified candidates will have the skill-set, expertise and experience necessary to help lead the establishment of a new national vision for taekwondo in Canada – one that works in close collaboration with its member organizations and other stakeholders to increase its relevancy as the National governing body for WTF taekwondo in Canada as well as its standing as a world leader in the development of Taekwondo as a sport and martial art for instructors, athletes, coaches, and officials.

The new TC Board of Directors elected in September 2010 consists of 14 Director positions inclusive of the Executive Committee (6 members) and 8 Director-at-Large positions.

The current call for nominations is for 3 vacancies within the 8 Director-at-Large positions.

Requirements for Nominations

1. Nominations for the 3 Director-at-Large vacancies may be submitted by any member individual or organization of Taekwondo Canada and must be seconded.
2. The Board is supported by Standing Committees in the areas of Awards and Sanctions, Audit, Finance, Governance and Best Practices, High Performance, Nominating, Para Taekwondo, Strategic Planning and Risk Management, and Taekwondo Development.  As such, candidates are to provide and updated resume detailing their skill-set and, in particular, any of the aforementioned areas in which they hold practical experience at the Board level or otherwise; as well as their experience with sport in their community or elsewhere.
3. The deadline for receipt of nominations is 6:00pm ET on Friday, April 27, 2012.  To submit your application, please complete a Nominations Application Form accompanied by your full resume, and send to the attention of the TC Nominations Committee Chair at nominations@wtfcanada.com.  Nominations Application Form, together with other supporting documentation information, are available at http://www.wtfcanada.com/eng/about/
